Assassins storm the Camp

Amidst a mob of at least 100 that entered the Kumbh Mela camp of His Divine Holiness wielding weapons and demanding Him to leave, 3 assassins were implanted by the militant groups to exterminate Him. The mob ended up dismantling an empty camp in the Kumbh Ghat area. The destruction of the camp in the middle of the Kumbh Mela where there was no defense for His Divine Holiness, incited continuous fear psychosis. The havoc made by the mob created an immense amount of confusion in order to execute the silent assassination of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. However, even before the mob entered the camp, His Divine Holiness was taken away from the camp to a hotel in the heart of the city of Haridwar.

His Divine Holiness remained in the hotel to attend the remaining rituals of the Kumbh Mela. On 15 March 2010, in the afternoon, from the hotel window in Haridwar, one of His Divine Holiness’ secretaries noticed a group of four people dressed in misleading laymen’s clothes advancing in their direction. Two of them had video cameras slung over their shoulders, other two were seemingly empty-handed. Instant panic hit the Secretaries and they alerted His Divine Holiness of the situation.

They frantically began packing. Just as His Divine Holiness was being taken out by His bodyguards, the assassins barged into the hotel room. Parts of ensuing scenes went on air as sensational live footage for the masses to consume. One of them rushed towards His Divine Holiness, wielding a small knife in his hands. Before he could stab Him, one of the bodyguards jumped in the way and kicked the weapon out of his hands and pushed the assassin to the ground. While one secretary, quickly guided His Divine Holiness out of the room, the other two desperately threw themselves into a fight with the cameramen. His Divine Holiness was moved out of Haridwar to safety in Himachal Pradesh.

Mastermind The mastermind behind the persecution’s Assassination attempt on His Divine Holiness

**March 2010 :**S The mastermind behind the persecution was in the meeting that was called for by him in the Indian Express Building in New Delhi, Manohar Shinde and Rajiv Malhotra were also in the meeting.

and 2 other disciples who were with Him.

When His Divine Holiness was in Kumbh mela in Haridwar, Manohar Shinde had called His Divine Holiness’ disciple who was with him, and told him that The mastermind behind the persecution wanted to meet him in Delhi in the Indian Express house which is a guest house belonging to the Indian Express group. The mastermind behind the persecution had arranged accommodation for His Divine Holiness

His Divine Holiness and the disciples went and stayed there overnight. The next day, the disciple received instructions from Shinde how to reach the venue.

They entered the room. Before they could even sit down, without any introduction, The mastermind behind the persecution abruptly called His Divine Holiness asideand said, “I told you to keep this meeting confidential. Did you tell anyone else that you are coming here?”

His Divine Holiness said,“Since you told to keep it confidential, we came confidentially only. No one else knows we are coming here.”

Shinde turned towards the disciple and asked him, “Did you tell anyone else you are coming here?”

The disciple also said,“As you advised, I have not told anyone that we are coming here. The taxi driver did not know we were coming here. We changed taxi at the guest house where you arranged for our stay. So no one knows we are here.”

Suddenly The mastermind behind the persecution started screaming,“Do you understand the situation you are in? Your life as a spiritual guru is finished. Do you know who is working behind this attack? You don’t have the capacity to handle this.

Shinde shouted,“It is time for you to simply leave and disappear. I have the capacity and plans to make the university, and run it. You are not useful or required anymore.”

His Divine Holiness said,“Kaivalya (“Kaivalya” was the spiritual name Shinde used to go by), don’t you know me? Don’t you understand that I am being victimized? Don’t you see it is an attack on a Hindu guru? I am an enlightened Master, and all Masters go through these kind of attacks.”

Shinde said,“Don’t talk all that bull-shit to me. Just listen, this is over. You better understand and cooperate with the guidance we have for you.”

Rajiv Malhotra said,“Manohar ji, I don’t appreciate this. Even if you don’t believe Him as an Enlightened Master, He is your guru.”

Shinde replied,“ No He is not my guru. I considered Him as a guru earlier, but not anymore.”

Rajiv Malhotra said,“Even if that is your stand, at least you should listen to Swamiji. Ask Him what questions we have and let Him get a chance to answer. Why are you attacking Him without even basic courtesy?”

Shinde said, “Rajiv, please do not interfere, you don’t understand, I will explain to you later. Just listen now.”

Rajiv Malhotra said,“You invited me to come to this meeting to help Swamiji. I hope that is still the agenda.”

His Divine Holiness said,“Rajiv ji, I am not asking you all to do anything except what is right. I have not done any wrong and I expect my disciples to support me in this hour of crisis. And if anyone is not supporting, I am fine, I can understand. I will manage it with my disciples.”

The mastermind behind the persecution said,“What you will manage? I have studied the situation in Bidadi. You are helpless now. Rajiv, I am insisting that Bidadi ashram should be handed over to Kishen Reddy and Ram Ramanathan. I have had detailed discussions with them in Bangalore. They are ready to take over and run the ashram. Ram Ramanathan told me that he has a few teachers in and around Bangalore and Mysore. All arrangements will be made. None of these ashramite fellows are required to run the ashram.”

His Divine Holiness said,“What are you all talking Kaivalya? I can’t imagine you talking like this. I never expected this from you. You only wanted to support and help build the Vedic university in Bidadi. Have you forgotten your promises in LA (Los

Angeles) to me? In front of all the US (United States) organizers?”

Shinde said,“Don’t worry about the US organizers, I will take care of all of them. They are not going to support you anymore. You forget about them.”

His Divine Holiness said,“No Kaivalya, I got messages from all of them, that they will continue to support me, and they all want to run the temples and centers no matter who the enemies are, or what the difficulties are.”

Shinde said,“Don’t worry about that. As soon as I go to the US, I will see to it that there will be no supporter left to support you.”

Rajiv said,“Swamiji, don’t believe a word of what he says. I am here to support you. I already know there are a lot of people out there who will not ditch you. I know you Swamiji, and I know why your devotees support you.”

He said,“I called Rajiv only to make Swamiji come here, otherwise He would not come. I don’t need Rajiv’s inputs here.”

Rajiv was saying something His Divine Holiness could not understand as Shinde and The mastermind behind the persecution kept abusively losing temper. They kept threatening His Divine Holiness and approaching Him.

His Divine Holiness’ disciple told them, to please keep distance, and not to come near.

Then The mastermind behind the persecution said,“Swami, please come into this room, I want to talk to you alone. I really want to help you, trust me.”

His Divine Holiness’ disciple was objecting. But His Divine Holiness said, “Sure. You are unnecessarily getting excited, and you are misled. Let us talk. Even if you are angry with me, I know you love me, and I trust you. Let us talk.”

As soon as they went inside, The mastermind behind the persecution pushed Him rudely to sit on the bed.

The mastermind behind the persecution pointed his finger at His Divine Holiness and said,“I don’t have much time to waste. Listen carefully. I have found out all the people who are around you and who are still committed to you. I have spoken to some of them and they agreed to work with my plan to manage the Bidadi campus. And the story is over now. You quietly go away for some 10 years, and then we will see how things shape up. I will help you with basic needs etc., for your support. But if you insist on staying back and fighting back, I will take away all your disciples, in LA (Los Angeles) and all over USA. I have already spoken to Popat. We will manage that property there

only. I have spoken to Kishen. We will manage the Hyderabad property separately.”

His Divine Holiness said,“This cannot be done. Where will all my ashramites go? And moreover, I have not done anything wrong, don’t you understand? Don’t you want to support me and help me in proving my innocence and continue our mission? Where will all the sanyasis (monks) go?”

The mastermind behind the persecution said,“You don’t worry about all those dumb people. You worry about yourself. You are going to face a lot of trouble if you don’t leave. I have my own plans now what to do for the university. I cannot go down with you. Any way you are down; if you stay around I will go down with you. There is no need for me to do that. I am giving you the best option you have right now. Hand over everything and get lost. Go into seclusion if you have to.”

His Divine Holiness said,“Please don’t abuse this opportunity. Only now I am understanding that you were only eyeing the Bidadi and LA property for your personal interests. I trusted you. This is not a time for you to sacrifice me. This is the time for us to stay together and continue our projects to forward Hinduism.”

Suddenly, The mastermind behind the persecution lost control and his body language became wild. The mastermind behind the persecution’s hand hit something and it fell down.

Then The mastermind behind the persecution said,“I will kill you and no one will even know you are finished. I will kill anyone who comes in my way”.

His Divine Holiness was quite fit normally, but He was not eating properly, and at the guest house, He could not have proper rest, so He was generally weak. He was unable to defend, or even call for help.

With the noise and commotion, His Divine Holiness’ disciple opened the door and ran in to see if everything was okay. The mastermind behind the persecution did not see His Divine Holiness’ disciple, and he was still pointing his figure at His Divine Holiness in a threatening way. His Divine Holiness was sitting on the bed, The mastermind behind the persecution’s back was facing the door as the disciple stood and watched both of them. The disciple came in from behind The mastermind behind the persecution and pulled him away.

His Divine Holiness’ disciple said,“Swamiji, let’s get out of here.”

As they were leaving, The mastermind behind the persecution said,“If anyone comes to know about this, neither you nor your ashramites will remain alive; quietly leave”.

Without a word, His Divine Holiness’ disciple and His Divine Holiness quickly got out of the room, left the guest house and drove to Haridwar immediately.

With respect I differ from the legal advice. This force the Karnataka government which is dormant today to take active position. This will bring in the strict police view, and exclude the flexible political view. Mahesh Jethmalani is stunned t his advice being ignored. It is a great risk. But now that it has been taken, one

needs to see how it can match with retirement idea. In my view the idea of retirement is to appeal to the government to take a lenient view. The idea of litigation is to force the government to take a lenient view. If someone were to talk to the government, it will now say that the matters are in court and it can do nothing on its own. What is going to be your answer?

I saw a news item in TV that Nithyananda has moved the HC of Karnataka to quash all cases against him.

If it were true, I see a huge risk in this. It is a very wrong move, strategically and even legally. It is impossible some court would grant relief. Even if some favourable order is obtained by hook or crook, the SC will quash the order as the law is clear that the police cannot refuse to investigate an offence of which complaint has been made.

Strategically, this is an ill advised move as it invites the Karnataka government to take a stand against Nithyananda which they have to under the law to say that they have a right to investigate which no court can deny.

So a neutral Karnataka Government may be forced into taking a hostile stand as the government cannot take one stand in this case, namely that, complaint need not be investigated by police and other cases take the very opposite of that stand!

Surprised as to who could have advised so casually, I checked up with Mahesh Jethmalani, who told me that he has categorically ruled out moving the court. I think with this the possibility of the Karnataka government taking reasonable stand is almost lost.

I cannot think of a more ill-advised move. I have also not heard since morning about the statement of retirement. The quash petition and the retirement into seclusion do not match. Is anyone thinking comprehensively about all this? Or are decisions being taken on adhoc basis?
