Hindu Extremist Militants turn Aadheenam into “a concentration camp of the 21st Century”

March 2010, all bank accounts of the organization were frozen. The State-Police-Mafia nexus had cut off all the basic needs of the organization to sustain itself. In such a situation, the people in the monastery decided to grow their own agricultural farm to be able to sustain themselves; they would drink water from the rain that would otherwise accumulate under the earth.

Illegal freezing of bank accounts

Without the proper documents, bank accounts of His Divine Holiness’ charitable trusts were illegally frozen by the appropriate State authority.

Mafia forced residents to starvation to drive them out of the monastery

No money was allowed to be withdrawn, making the main source of food and basic amenities for the residents of the adheenam a huge struggle. When asked, the bank authorities said that upon receiving a letter from the Criminal Investigation Department, they had frozen the accounts. However, they did not cite any court document. To save money, the residents of the aadheenam began rationing food out.

Monks decided to meet their own needs, they starting farming and rain water harvesting

The residents decided to grow their own agricultural farm to be able to sustain themselves. They started ‘rain water harvesting’ to meet their needs.

A Puducherry Lawyer files a notorious false complaint

On 5 Mar 2010, a case was filed in Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, South India (Ref.:Cr. No. 90/2010) by a lawyer, alleging hurting religious sentiments of the people and cheating by His Divine Holiness, as a consequence of the release of the fabricated video by the persecutors. It third party person who files this complaint, did not claim that his sentiments were hurt, he claimed (without naming anybody) devotees’ sentiments were hurt. If at all, such a case should have been filed by devotees against the mafia which created and released the fabricated obscene video. But instead, His Divine Holiness was being persecuted through this lawsuit. The Counsel to His Divine Holiness were dealing with such absurd baseless complaints continuously from the year 2010.

The State-Police-Media-Criminal Nexus Raid the Monastery

Media kept airing a baseless and terrorising false news that there are several video CDs in the Bengaluru Aadheenam showing relationship of His Divine Holiness with many women. Playing into the pre-planned conspiracy with the media, the police landed at the Bengaluru Aadheenam on the 15th of April, and barged into all the areas, ransacked the place, dismantled the computers and confiscated the hard disks and CDs, unlawfully, without any court-warrant to do so.

In the subsequent court proceedings,that happened later, it was officially recognized that nothing was found on any of these storage devices. However, when the items were returned back to the residents of the aadheenam, they found that the CDs and hard disks had been completely erased of data, and not in working condition anymore.

Police sexually harass female monks

The police, led by DIG (Deputy Inspector General) of CID (Criminal Investigation Department) Charan Reddy and DGP (Director General of Police) and head of CID (Criminal Investigation Department) Guru Prasad made it a customary practice to come and conduct raids in the Bengaluru aadheenam. Every time, Charan Reddy and Guru Prasad came, they would unabashedly and inappropriately handle the female monks. Charan Reddy and Guru Prasad would barge into the dorms of the female Sanyasis (Hindu monks), ruthlessly pulling them out, sexually harassing them and forcing them to file false rape complaints against His Divine Holiness.

The irony is, Lenin had raped 2 female Sanyasis in the monastery, but the cases are still pending in the court of Bangalore. Media and police were hand-in-hand executing the atrocities, nobody offered help, no women rights organization, no Police, no law, nobody.

It was my 10thbirthday the day that we were attacked inside of the aadheenam on 3 March 2010. It was just after I shared sweet with all my classmates that we got a call that the police had entered the campus. All of the teachers forced locked down protocol for all of us. They switched off all of the lights and made us sit together in one of the happened. Then finally the police came to gurukul. They started yelling loudly, banging on all the doors. One of the younger girls couldn’t suppress her fear anymore. She screamed a blood curdling scream that the whole aadheenam could hear.

The police pounded on our door until the singes for the door clattered on the ground and they kicked the door open. All the elder kids got up as the police filed into the room. I was one of the boys who got up. The police started calling us a few of us separately. It was led by one of them who everyone called “Reddy sir” .

I was one of the kids among around seven of us that they took to a separate room. I knew the policeman from the TV. His name was Charan Reddy. When we were in the main office room, he closed and locked the door. I was so afraid I was almost shivering. I remember my knees shaking as the door latched and Charan Reddy turned around to face us. For fifteen minutes, they made us all watch pornography in their phones. Even as we cried, and wanted to close our eyes they nudged us with their sticks and made us watch.

Charan Reddy stayed by my side the entire time. The gun he had was bolstered on his waist, and he held a short stick in his hand. In front of everybody he came close to me and whispered into my ear.

“Did Nithyananda ever touch you?” He asked me. I was confused about what he meant so I didn’t answer. Suddenly, he grabbed my private parts and squeezed until it was painful. Some of my classmates began crying. I struggled to remain silent as my body fought against him. “Did he ever touch you like this?” He continued asking. I shook my head vigorously.

“No” I squeaked.

“Are you sure” his grip got tighter on my private parts. I pushed and struggled against him but it only came out as weak struggles for defense. I didn’t understand what he was saying or doing. What did he mean?

“No!” I screamed this time. Immediately, the hand that held the stick came down on me hard, right against my mouth. My teeth clattered. The taste of blood filled my mouth.

“Shh!” he silenced me. Because I screamed there was some commotion outside. He looked behind him once and then left the room. The minute Charan Reddy went outside I fell to the ground and curled up into fetal position, crying without making a sound.

It was only two hours after the police left that one teacher came and found me lying asleep in the darkness. Because of the blood on my mouth I was taken to the hospital but I never spoke a word about what Charan Reddy did to me.”

Gangrape of Female Monks of Nithyananda Order

“In April of 2010, the CID illegally raided the aadheenam several times looking for Swamiji to arrest him, destroy our property and our lives. By the end of the month when they came, all aadheenavasis became used to withdrawing into our rooms, locking the doors, shutting off the lights wherever we were as if no one was there. At any moment, we did not know what would happened.. I never imagined that a situation would come like this where we were all locked down in one place for so many hours in the day without food, water or any chance to use the restroom. These men didn’t look more than local workers who were paid to do this by Gurumoorthy to literally destroy our lives. They were tall and built by training. Their entire body was the weapon they used to exorcise the life out of us. They held their phones in their hands, filming us and taking photos. When they began filming, I held my head down, determined not to show my face in their videos. I didn’t realize they wouldn’t give me a choice.

Five men surrounded me like predators surrounding their prey. One man pulled at my sari and then then they shoved me around to each one of them until it unraveled completely.

One man shoved the tip of his pistol inside me I was tortured by the screams and sobs of my sisters all around me. I was consumed by them, my life and energy absorbed by them. I was sure I could never get it back. My privates were bleeding profusely as I lost the energy first and then collapsed into darkness. What seemed like hours later, silence filled the sabha. We were left to rot. We were all mortified, unsure what to say and overwhelmed by the gruesome and collection of all of our pain.”

Brutal Gangrape of Female Monks

“It was the unforgettable night of 15 April 2010. The police had just raided our premises and our modesty that day few hours earlier. We were devastated already. About ten of us were hiding out in the back room of the aadheenam, as we heard a large group of men try to sneak into our campus at night. There seemed to be about twenty men holding what looked like knives in their hands. All ten of us were young women, completely terrified of what would happen to us or how we would protect ourselves. We could hear them searching through the aadheenam for any signs of people, and they were breaking all our belongings in every room.

One of the brahmacharinis sneaked out to the room where our deities were kept as she hoped to save them before these men reached the room. Unfortunately, just as she was making her way out of the room with the deities, one of these men saw her and ran towards her. He grabbed her hair as she tried to make an escape, and she fell to the ground, with the deities falling out of her arms. The man kicked the deities out of the way and began dragging her out by her hair towards the front of the aadheenam. We all saw this and rushed out to do something, and by then the remaining men had all gathered. Looking around I saw many of the men were groping the breasts and hips of the women and laughing at their attempts to free themselves from their grasp. The first woman who was caught near the Puja room, was being thrashed brutally. The other men had begun tearing off the clothes off the women they were holding. To my utter horror, I saw one man urinating on on of the brahmacharinis, trying to force her to drink it. She was wailing in protest. When I turned my head to the other side, I could see three men forcing themselves on of of the brahmacharinis. Another man had torn off her kurta and was groping her breasts aggressively.

After these videos reach the media, we would have no choice but to live our lives with these men.

Two of these men went inside and picked up the deities that fell from the brahmacharinis hands, and threw them into the drain right outside our gates. They had their fun for an hour or so, then left us to die in that blood-stained, traumatised state. I could see that 3 of the brahmacharinis were completely unconscious, and few more on the verge of it.

To my utter shock, two of the ten of us went missing. Everyone was rushed to the hospital by a devotee who came to the scene soon after. The two missing brahamacharinis were not found for nearly a year after - we had found that videos of them had been sent to their families and that they had been forced into prostitution in another part of the city. In finding them, the police neither helped us nor took our complaint seriously.

Over the years, all these brahmacharinis were unable to handle what had happened to them. One by one, they left the aadheenam, some forced to do so by their families, and forced into

marriage. One of them underwent severe mental trauma, losing her mind and slipping into strange deranged states. One of them started to take psychiatric drugs for her depression, and slowly found her way to other illegal drugs while she was staying outside the aadheenam.

Finally, only two of us remain, who were able to survive this trauma.”

“Before Swamiji was arrested, the CID invaded the Aadheenam in an attempt to find Him or any evidence to incriminate Him. On April 15th, 2010, the CID arrived at the gates of the Aadheenam, demanding to search the property. Without any choice, we let them in, naive to what was going to happen.

They searched the entire Aadheenam up and down, including the private apartments. At the time, I was living in one of the apartment complexes with two other female sanyasis. During their search, one of the officers stopped by my apartment and requested to search it. He was very polite and professional compared to the other officers so I didn’t think too much of it. I let him in and went to the bedroom to continue doing my work.

After a few minutes, I heard a knock on my door. The same officer was standing there, wanting to ask me some questions. Naturally, I cooperated. The questions began pretty general but then he started to get quite personal, asking me about my past and if I have ever had any relationships before. I was very blunt with him and explained that it was inappropriate to ask a female sanyasi such questions. He replied, “Why? We all know what you do with your Guru here,” making a lewd gesture with his hand.

I was completely shocked and told him to get out immediately. He caressed my arm and told me to relax -- that he was just joking. I continued to insist that he leave, at which point he cornered me against the door and began to grope me. I screamed and pushed him away. Angered, he grabbed me by my hair, closed my mouth with his hand, and told me that if I didn’t do what he said he would plant cocaine in my room and incriminate myself and Swamiji. He then held up a plastic bag with a large amount of what looked like cocaine.

Unsure what to do, I began to whimper. He then pulled his pants, pushed me onto my knees, and shoved his penis into my mouth. I, immediately, began to gag but he did not stop. Afraid of his threats, I did not know whether I should fight back. After he finished, he ejaculated on my face and in my mouth. I began to cry louder. Slamming my head into the wall, he told me to shut up. Then, he began touching me all over my body. He unbuttoned my blouse, removed my saree, and molested me. Pulling my underwear down, he put his fingers inside of my vagina. My virgin body went into panic and I began to sweat profusely and hyperventilate. As I gasped for air, he got scared and moved away from me. Before he left, he held up the bag of cocaine and reminded me of what would happen if I said anything to anyone.

I locked the door as he left and collapsed to the ground. I stayed in my room alone for several hours crying, replaying the whole incident in my head. “How could I have been so stupid?” I kept asking myself. Ashamed, I have not spoken about that incident to a single soul until very recently.”

Planned Assaults by Police in name of Search

“A batch of us doing the Life Bliss Technology program were assigned to the job of security. Me and few other men around my age were doing rounds when the CID Raids started. We were the among the people who responded immediately as soon as a trespass or incidents happens.

I remember before the raid happened we saw on television the media claiming that the police had found more CDs, condoms, marijuana and other atrocious claims such as this. No such raid had occurred yet. But the very day I saw that television bit, a half an hour later, a raid would occur. The press with their film cameras will be ready before it even starts.

Charan Reddy, Yogappa and Guruprasad, chief police officers, were all frequent visitors, spies of Gurumoorthy who were paid to arrive here frequently to report whether or not Swamiji was in the aadheenam and other state of affairs. Amongst at least 50 other police officers will also be there.

I imagine it was instructed to go to all extents and destroy property, steal anything valuable and bring the most amount of harm to our lives to them Otherwise they wouldn’t have done it so meticulously. On this day, I found myself surrounded by of these types of men near goshala.

They stuffed a ball of cloth into my mouth and I was gagged. They pulled my kavi was ripped from my body, leaving me exposed.

They smashed my head against the concrete wall. My bloodstained the gray wall. They first hit me in the back of my knees knocking me to the ground. Using their boots, they crushed my face into the ground, while taunting me. As we were outnumbered, our attempts to fight back were useless. They laughed at our feeble attempts as they continued to torment us.

My flesh was raw from all the beatings. My body was so sore, it became numb. I, seriously, doubted whether I was going to make it out with my life.As they continued to beat me, I was lying in a pool of my own blood which only seemed to grow larger.

With my face smashed against the wall, they taunted me with insults to my faith.”

Mother Assaulted in front of Minor Son

“I was in kitchen when the police trespassed onto the aadheenam. I was so immersed in the cooking I didn’t catch up to what was going on in the aadheenam. My son and I were in our own world, isolated from the rest. I did not know that it was the perfect situation for a culprit to execute his plan.

I remember hearing that it was none other than the police that were attacking us. They were supposed to be the ones protecting us but here they were violating our most basic right to live and be free.

I did not know when the officer entered inside the kitchen but I was captured by him all of a sudden. I started fighting him from that minute that he put his hand on me to when he left the

room. I bit and scratched him. I kicked at him. In the end, however, he was able to get from me what he want.

He held me like a toy and penetrated me from behind. After all the screaming, I could only squeak. Every inch of my body was violated. Now, my soul was screaming in every pore of my skin.

After everything, I realized the most horrifying thing. My son was still there through the whole thing. He approached me like a broken boy and began screaming and crying. I was unable to move for him or anything. I felt the most hopeless I have ever felt in my life.

There was no one to rescue us so the scene seemed to go on. .Another resident heard my son screaming and found us both lying together in the kitchen. We were rushed to the hospital together The amount of pain we all went through made us question what was the point in life. Why should we go on if we are facing something like this? I still don’ know the answer to this.”

Destruction of evidence of Genocide

Media laid the grounds for justifying unauthorized police entry and destruction of evidence by the police in the Bengaluru Aadheenam. The hard disks, taken by the Police, contained the CCTV footage (Closed Circuit Television) of the criminal attempts on life of residents, destruction of property and acts of violence inflicted on the monastery by the Extremist Hindu Militants and Sun Television Mafia.

Destruction of intellectual property

Some of the hard disks contained several terabytes of spiritual discourses of His Divine Holiness and scans of ancient Hindu manuscripts. This atrocious theft and irreversible destruction of intellectual property is a fundamental crime which got no coverage in the media at all. It is the equivalent of burning libraries or destroying the hard work of a man’s lifetime dedication and earnings. Books, talks, and tremendous amount of intellectual contribution that was of immense value to humanity, was stored on those hard disks. However now they are lost to history.

$)

Public resources were spent on this State-sponsored terrorism.

In this attack, more than Rs. 200 million worth of temple property was destroyed.

Request for a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) Probe into the false case

Suffering irreparable damage due to sensationalisation by the media, and systematic persecution by the State machinery and combined persecutory forces of extreme Hindu elements, atheist elements and linguistic based elements, His Divine Holiness filed a writ petition in the High Court of Karnataka, seeking a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the truth of the matter. The plea was rejected by the High Court of Karnataka.
