Content: Cosmic energy and the 5 elements

Content: It is said that if the energy of one lightning stroke can be captured in a battery, you can supply electricity to a city for more than one year! Such is the energy of the cosmos. This divine cosmic energy exists all around us as the 5 elements - earth, water, fire, air & ether. Temples are structures specially designed to harness and store this energy for us.

Content: Worship through Earth!

Content: The deities (idols) in the temples represent the formless cosmic energy. Idols are made of the earth element (like brass, copper, lead, silver or gold). Idol worship is therefore nothing but connecting to the cosmic energy through the earth element! When you worship the idol, you worship the divine cosmic energy. So it is important to understand that idol worship is not worshipping the form of the idol; it is worshipping the cosmos through the idol.

Content: SRI ANANDESHWARA TEMPLE & THE HEALING TREE -5-

Page 8

Content: Harness through Water!

Content: The cosmic energy is easily harnessed through the water in the holy rivers. That is why, bathing in the river Ganges and other such sacred rivers is considered holy. Also, many temples include a temple tank with water which serves as a storehouse of the cosmic energy. When you dip in the holy rivers or in these tanks, you are connected to the divine cosmic energy.

Content: Experience through Fire!

Content: In temples, fire rituals are conducted to invoke the cosmic energy and radiate it. The energy radiated through the fire is transmitted to stored water, and this water is offered to the deities in the temple as a holy bath. Thus these fire rituals serve to sanctify the deities installed in the temple. Merely witnessing fire rituals is an effortless way to connect with the divine cosmic energy. Also, you can perceive the fire element in a lit lamp at the entrance to the sanctum sanctorum in many temples.

Content: Vibrate through Air!

Content: The cosmic energy can be harnessed through the air element when you chant mantras. In temples, mantras are continuously chanted. Mantras are energy utterances. The vibrations of these fill the pervading air and energize it. The air inside the temple is kept pure and energized through chanting. Just being in the space where chanting happens is enough to be in the midst of the divine cosmic energy.

Content: -6-

Page 9

Content: Rejuvenate through Ether!

Content: The ether element is the most vital form of the divine cosmic energy. It fills the space around us. The very structure of a temple is designed to be a battery to store maximum ether energy. When you meditate, you can harness this subtle ether energy and connect to the Divine through it. That is why many temples have meditation halls built as part of them.

Content: The role of enlightened masters in temples

Content: When a rich man dies, he leaves behind his wealth to his wife, daughters and sons. When enlightened masters leave their body, they leave their wealth of energy, penance and goodness to humanity at large. Temples are built on these energy fields left behind by them.

Content: Either the masters themselves build these temples when they are alive or the people build them after the masters leave the body. These temples are further sanctified through rituals that harness the divine cosmic energy. These temples are divine gifts of these great masters to humanity.

Content: SRI ANANDESHWARA TEMPLE & THE HEALING TREE

Page 10

Content: There are two types of people: the first type generate energy from their own system. They are like the solar system. Wherever they are, they produce energy; they radiate energy. Whatever they do, they excel in it; whatever they touch flourishes. They are the ones who nourish the world. They are the enlightened masters!

Content: The second type of people are those who have forgotten the art of producing energy from their inner source. These people may flourish, but maybe only in one or two fields, and that too out of the superficial energy source called 'mind'. Since their source is superficial, multidimensional flourishing remains a dream for them. These are the ordinary people of the world. The first category of people helps the second category by giving energy to it; by giving it a clear cut technology to achieve.

Content: As per Vedic Science, there are two ways to install energy in a deity: one is agama pratishta, the other is prana pratishta.

Content: In agama pratishta, energy installation is done by the second category of people. It is done essentially through chanting of mantras. This method will install only a few volts of energy. The energy intensity will be decided by the nature of the mantras, the accuracy with which it is chanted and above all, the psychological state of the person chanting them.

Content: In prana pratishta, energy installation is done by the first category of people. It happens through a direct connection with the divine cosmic energy that nourishes the whole universe.

Content: -8-

Page 11

Content: The first category of people, that is the enlightened masters, are pure channels for the divine cosmic energy to flow through. They can choose what manifestation of the energy they wish to install. They could install the wealth energy, the health energy, the karma-exhausting energy that liberates one from this cycle of life and death, or any other type of energy. For the goodwill of society, masters have worked on the science of the inner world and have installed various aspects of the divine energy in historic temples. Today, every historic temple has its own significance. Each deity has its own boon to offer depending on the type of energy installed in it. That is why, in order to conceive children, you go to a particular temple; in order to wed a suited spouse, you go to a different temple; to defy planetary influences, you go to a different temple; for finance problems, you go to a different temple. These benefits are nothing but special energy packs!

Content: When an enlightened master installs energy in a temple, the temple becomes an instant cosmic energy house!

Content: Temples are structures that replace an enlightened master’s presence. Masters, by their sheer presence heal people; they heal not just at the physical level but at the being level. They keep the inspiration for spirituality alive. Their presence offers an ambience of sacredness. Temples are spaces created by masters to offer these same things that they offer.

Page 12

Content: While performing consecration at the Anandeshwara Temple, Nithyananda said:

Content: 'An enlightened master is the cosmos in human form - the ultimate human form fit to perform a sanctum consecration. For an enlightened master, the energies of expression through any means never get exhausted.

Content: For example, for an ordinary human being, the grief emotion or joy emotion exhausts when expressed through tears; the pitha (fire element) of the body exhausts through anger; the lust energy exhausts through sexual act, the power of speech exhausts in his very saliva the moment words are uttered. All these energies of expression become exhausted as he uses them.

Content: An enlightened master's energy of expression cannot be exhausted through any of these means, because he is Existence - the inexhaustible source of energy - in human form. And because masters do not need a body to execute their work, they can continue to do the things they do even after they have left their physical body.

Content: The sanctum created and energized by them will radiate inexhaustible energy and nurture every being that seeks it. Only a master who can function without the help of his body is capable of creating a true sanctum, one that will materialize things exactly like the way he does!'

Content: Sri Anandeshwara - Anandeshwari

Content: Sri Anandeshwara Temple is a divine vision of

Content: Paramahamsa Nithyananda.

Content: It is a gift to humanity.

Content: It is built as a traditional Dravidian style stone temple.

Content: Paramahamsa Nithyananda, enlightened master of this millennium, has performed the prana pratishta - special method of energy installation possible only by enlightened masters - here. In doing so, he has rendered a rare Shiva energy field in planet Earth today. He has installed energy here with multidimensional aspects. Whosoever comes into this energy field can experience immediate relief from their difficulties - be they physical, mental, spiritual or economical.

Content: The Anandeshwara temple was inaugurated with a kumbhabhisheka (sanctifying through holy water) on 1Jan 2007, coinciding with the Jayanti (birthday) celebrations of Nithyananda.

Content: Here, Shiva is in the form of Sri Anandeshwara and Anandeshwari, His consort. The deities are 7 ½ feet in height and weigh 2 ½ tonnes. Anandeshwari sits on the lap of Anandeshwara on His left thigh, offering a rare setting amongst Shiva temples. The scene depicts Shiva delivering the Vignan Bhairav Tantra to Devi, His consort, amidst great intimacy.

Content: Sri Anandeshwara Temple & The Healing Tree

Page 14

Content: Vignan Bhairav Tantra is Shiva's meditation manual for enlightenment. It is a set of 112 meditation techniques delivered by Him more than 5000 years ago to Devi.

Content: Sri Anandeshwara holds a damaru - small drum - in His left hand. The damaru sound symbolises the primordial sound from which all Creation is said to happen. His left hand holds fire which symbolizes creation of space for more creation to happen! His third hand symbolically shows abbhaya - protection, and His fourth hand holds Devi. His right eye symbolizes the sun and His left eye, the moon. His third eye, between the brows, symbolizes fire. His right leg hangs down and is said to put people in illusion so clarity may happen in them. His left leg on which Devi sits liberates people by giving them enlightenment!

Content: If you keep any thought in front of an intense sanctum, the thought will simply materialize!

Content: Anandeshwari holds a kumudam flower in her right hand. Like how the lotus blooms when sunlight falls on it, the kumudam blooms when moonlight falls on it. Just by Shiva's left eye falling on it, the kumudam is said to blossom! This symbolically indicates the blossoming of Anandeshwari's heart to Him. Her left hand is in a giving posture and indicates giving to the whole of humanity, the enlightenment that She received from Anandeshwara!

Content: This sanctum is continuously energized through spiritual practices by ordained brahmacharis of the ashram. Up to 1008 varieties of food items are offered here on special occasions.

Content: The sacred banyan tree adjoining the temple has a natural cave formation in it. At the entrance of the cave was originally found this swayambhu linga (naturally formed Shiva linga), which has now been consecrated in the sanctum at the Anandeshwara Temple. The tree and the swayambhu linga have been here from time immemorial. Over years, the banyan tree has grown and spread its foliage.

It has the power to burn the karmas of those seeking it. Karmas are nothing but the unfulfilled actions responsible for rebirth.'

Content: In the metaphysical sense, this linga's powerful presence has been here from time immemorial across time and space. It causes exellence in the outer world and radiance in the inner world in those who worship it.

One can reach Shambhala from Tapovan, which is over 17,500 feet in the Himalayas beyond Gangotri and Gomukh. On planet Earth, there are a few energy fields that serve as airstrips to take off to Shambhala. This banyan tree is one such energy field!'

Content: This space encloses three trees: Athi (Fig), Ala (Banyan) and Arasa (Peepal),

Content: known to bear fruits without bearing flowers. In the Vedic tradition, these are sacred trees, known as Vanapati or 'Lord of the forest'. It is said that where these three trees are found, Banashankara or Shiva dwells!

Content: Have a partnership with Anandeshwara!

Content: The word partner can mean a life partner, a business partner, a travel partner or anything that involves a relationship. Of all partnerships, business partnerships cause the most concern today. For a business partnership to be successful, intelligence and inspiration are needed. In any partnership, if you add intelligence, it will become successful. When you miss the intelligence, the partnership results in what you call 'loss'. There are many businesses in the world today. If you know how to add intelligence to them, you can get from them the due returns! It could be any business, it doesn't matter. Did you know that intelligence is nothing but energy? The divine energy of the cosmos is the ultimate intelligence. It is known as Cosmic Intelligence. It is this

Content: intelligence that is running the whole show of the cosmos. It is this intelligence that we try to harness when we chant the sacred Gayatri mantra - prayer to the Cosmic Intelligence to light our inner intelligence. We always think that the Cosmos or the Divine has the shakti - power but never the buddhi - intelligence. We always believe in using our own buddhi and begging the Divine for shakti for us to see success. That is where we are making a mistake. The cosmos has both shakti and buddhi. It is the Cosmic Intelligence that converts the bread that you eat to blood in your body! Cosmic Intelligence is what conducts every single life force in this universe. It is the divine and inexhaustible source of 'energy - intelligence'. If you are an intelligent investor, you will invest first in

Content: -20-

Page 23

Content: this 'energy - intelligence' before investing in anything else! Anandeshwara is a manifestation of this divine 'energy - intelligence'. He is a tangible form of the intangible Cosmic Intelligence. By including Him as your business partner, you consciously acknowledge the Cosmic Intelligence; you rest your mind in it before you set out on your venture; you work with a shift in your consciousness; you work with undaunted faith in the result. By investing in Him, you unconsciously develop a connection with the higher multidimensional energies. These energies will keep empower you to blissfully handle any challenge. Above all, having a partnership with the Divine will automatically lead you to become divine. Going further, for any partnership to work, both

Content: partners need trust and confidence. How much confidence you have on your partner, that much success you will see in your business. Content: Glimpses of the Temple

Content: Indian temples are a symbolic reflection of the human body. The macrocosm is reflected in the microcosm. The great cosmos is reflected in the human body. By entering a temple, the awareness that we are but a chip of the microcosm enters us. When this awareness grows within us, we start merging with the macrocosm.

Content: Just as our body has five sections - namely head, neck, chest, legs and feet - a temple also has five corresponding sections.

Content: Garbha mandir - the sanctum sanctorum. This houses the presiding deity and represents the head of the human form. The deity is invested with sight, life and breath, thus making it a virtual living force.

Content: Ardhamandap - the hall space in front of the sanctum that represents the neck of the human form.

Content: Mahamandap - the space outside of the inner space that represents the chest of the human form.

Content: Prakaras - the circumambulation space and walls that represent the legs of the human form.

It is nothing but our deep desire to re-connect to the cosmic energy - which created us. To facilitate this connection, temples are created! If this connection is established, we will start to function with a capacity unimaginable!
