The Moon.

சிவபெருமான் சந்திரனை அணிந்தது சர்வஞ்ஞத்துவர் தாமென்பதையும் ஆன்மாக்களது பிறப்பிறப்புக்களை நீக்கி மேலான முத்தியைக் கொடுப்பவர் தாமென்பதையும் அறி வித்த உண்மையாகும்.

The fact that Lord Shiva wears the Moon signifies the truth that He is omniscient and that He removes the births and deaths of souls and grants them the supreme liberation.

தூமதி சடைமிசைச் சூதிகல் தூ நिநி

The pure crescent moon adorning His matted locks.

யாமதி யானென வமைந்க வாறே.

In the manner in which we are established as “I am that.”
