திருக்கு றுந்தொகை

Tirukkuṟuntokai

பூக்கைக் கொண்டான் பொன்னடி போற்றிலார்

Those who do not praise the golden feet of Him who holds flowers in His hand.

நாக்கைக் கொண்டா னாம நவில்கிலார்

Though they possess tongues, they do not utter the Divine Name.

ஆக்கைக் கேயிரை தேடி யமலந்து

They toil, seeking food merely for the body,

காக்கைக் கேபிரை யாகிக் கழிவரே.

and pass away, becoming food for crows.

சுவர்க்கம் முதலிய மேலுலகங்கள் இப்பூமியிலே ஈட்டிய புண்ணியத்தின் பயனாகிய இன்பத்தை அனுபவித்தற்கு இடமாகுமன்றிச் சிவபெருமானை மனம் வாக்குக் காயங்களி னாலே வழிபட்டு மலபந்தத்தை நீக்கிக் கொள்ளுவதற்கு இடங் களாகா. ஆகலால் மேலுலகத்துள்ள பிரமா விட்டுணு இந் திரன் முதலிய தேவர்களும் இப்பூமியிலே வந்து சிவபெரு மானை அர்ச்சிப்பர் * ஆகையால் இந்த மனுஷ்ய தேகங் கிடைத்தற்கரியது.

Heaven and the other higher worlds are merely places where one experiences the pleasures earned through the merit accumulated on this earth; they are not places where one can worship Lord Shiva through the mind, speech, and body and rid oneself of the bondage of impurities. Therefore, even the gods such as Brahma, Vishnu, and Indra who dwell in the higher worlds come to this earth and worship Lord Shiva. * Hence, obtaining this human body is exceedingly rare.

இச்சரீரம் எவ்வளவு காலம் நிற்குமென்று அறிய முடி யாமையின்ல், இது உள்ளபொழுதே சிவபெருமானை வழி படுதல் நம் கடனாகும். அங்ஙனம் மெய்யன்போடு வழிபடு

Since we cannot know how long this body will endure, it is our duty to worship Lord Shiva while we still possess it. To those who worship Him with true devotion,

பவருக்குச் சிவபெருமான் பொருட் செல்வத்தையும் என்று மழியாத அருட்செல்வத்தையும் கொடுத்தருளுவர்.

Lord Shiva graciously bestows both material wealth and imperishable spiritual wealth.

ஐய னேயர னேயென் றரற்றினால்

O Lord, O Hara, O my Master, if I cry out,

உய்ய லாமுல கத்தவர் பேணுவார்

The people of this world will cherish and protect me, and I shall attain salvation;

செய்ய பாத மிரண்டு நினையவே

If I think upon Your two red feet,

வைய மாளவும் வைப்பர்மாற் பேறரே.

They will grant me sovereignty over the world and the supreme boon.

மாட்டைத் தேடி மகிழ்ந்துநீர் நும்முளே

You rejoice in seeking cattle among yourselves,

நாட்டுப் பொய்யெலாம் பேசிடு நாணிலீர்

You shamelessly speak all the falsehoods of the land,

கூட்டை விட்டுயிர் போவதன் முன்னமே

Before the life departs, leaving the body

காட்டுப் பள்ளி யுளான்கழல் சேர்மினே.

Seek refuge at the feet of Him who dwells in the forest school.

The prosperous, lofty mansions rise high and extend far into the sky.

செல்வ மதிதோயச் செல்வ முயர்கின்ற

As wealth rises, reaching the moon,

செல்வர்வாழ் தில்லைச் சிற்றம் பலமேய

The Hall of Chidambaram, where the wealthy dwell,

செல்வன் கழலேத்துஞ் செல்வஞ் செல்வமே.

The wealth of praising the feet of the Wealthy One is true wealth.
