Possession of Love

அன்பானது மந்ததாம், மந்தம், தவிரம், தீவிரதாம் என நால்வகைப்படும். மந்ததரபக்தி அரக்கானது வெய் யிலின்முன் இருந்து வெதும்புந் கன்மை போல்வது. மந்த பசதி மெழுகானது வைய்பிலின் முன் உருகுதல் போல்வது. தீவிரபக்தி நெய்யானது சூட்டுக்கு இளகு.கல் போல்வது. தீவிரதரபக்தி தைலகாரையானது சிரிதும் இடையறாது ஒழுகுதல் போல்வது.

Love is of four kinds: mild, moderate, intense, and most intense. Mild devotion is like a demon suffering while standing before the sun’s heat. Moderate devotion is like wax melting before the sun. Intense devotion is like ghee softening in the heat. Most intense devotion is like oil flowing continuously without the slightest interruption.

அன்பாவது ஒருவருக்குத் தம்மோடு தொடர்புடைய வராய்த் தமக்கு இனியவராய் உள்ளவரிடத்தே நிகழும் மன்நெகிழ்ச்சியாம். பக்தி அன்பு என்பன ஒரு பொருட் சொற்கள்.

Love is the melting of the heart that arises toward one who is connected with us and dear to us. Devotion and love are words denoting the same thing.

நம்மோடு தொடர்புடையவராய், நமக்கு இனியவராய் உள்ளவர் யாவரென உள்ளபடி ஆராயின்; அநாதியே

If we examine who those connected with us and dear to us truly are, then from time immemorial
