The Equipoise of the Two Kinds of Karma

இருவினையொப்பாவது நல்வினை தீவினைகளிலும் அவற் றின் விளைவாகிய புண்ணிய பாவங்களிலும் இவற்றின் பய னாகிய இன்பதுன்பங்களிலும் விருப்பு வெறுப்பின்றி ஆன்ம அறிவின் கண்ணே ஒப்பத் தோன்றுதலேயாம். அதனால் நான் என்னும் ஆன்மபோதமாகிய மலச்சேட்டை தேயும். இருவினை யொப்பு வருவதற்குக் காரணம் சரியை கிரியை யோகம் என்னும் சிவபுண்ணியங்களாம்.

The equipoise of the two kinds of karma means that, with regard to good and evil deeds, the merit and demerit resulting from them, and the pleasures and pains that arise as their fruits, neither attachment nor aversion arises, but all are perceived equally through the knowledge of the soul. As a result, the impurity of ego-consciousness, expressed as “I,” gradually wears away. The cause of the arising of this equipoise of the two kinds of karma is the meritorious service to Shiva known as charya, kriya, and yoga.
