The Śivarahasya, part one — the Māheśvara portion (prathama aṃśa) of the Śivarahasya Mahetihāsa, an Upapurāṇa and one of the great Śaiva narrative scriptures, the source of the Ribhu Gītā and of much of the Tamil Śaiva tradition. In the dialogue of Sūta with the sages it recounts the greatness of Śiva, the story of Jaigīṣavya, and the fruits of Śaiva observance.
